Brain Defense: 5 lessons for families on online safety


Children aged 9 to 12 years old will learn self-discipline with screen time, choosing content to consume, and creating a balance with real-world activities.

They will also learn safe habits such as the CAN DO plan to avoid digital danger from pornography, predators and bullies as good digital citizens who practice kindness, integrity and respect.

This session helps parents to gain awareness on how sexuality education is taught in MOE, and how to engage in quality conversation with their teens on how to care for themselves and others responsibility.


Let's Talk About Healthy Gaming

This session introduces the human psychology behind gaming and how we can support our teens to make wise choices about gaming, and suggest practical tips and resources for parents to be confident in building healthy gaming habits in their family. Can you spot the signs of online gaming addiction? As our children gain independence in using devices, they are exposed to different kinds of games that are designed to keep gamers in their games as long as possible, and ideally spend money in the game. Pornography is accessible anytime anywhere via mobile devices. How can we help our teen understand the harm of pornography and how to deal with them? This session provides practical tips on how to guide our teens in navigating online pornography.


Talking To Tweens & Teens About Pornography & Sexting

Our children and youths are growing up in a media-saturated environment that is hyper-sexualised. How can we raise them to be discerning of inappropriate content, especially pornography? How can we guide them towards healthy sexuality? This session will discuss how pornography impacts brain development, and how to engage in conversations with our teens on healthy sexuality.

Talking To Tweens & Teens About Love & Friendship

Your child will learn the different kinds of love (such as family love, platonic love, romantic love) as well as different levels of friendship. There will also be discussion on what boundaries are needed for the various levels. 


Talking To Tweens & Teens About Sex and Abortion

Your child will learn how pre-marital sex could impact them and understand the biology of abortion. This will help them to be better informed on how to take care of themselves and others as they gain independence online and offline. 

Talking To Tweens & Teens About The Meaning Of LGBTQ Labels & Gender Identity

Your child will learn why labels are unhelpful, and discuss how to deal with attractions and understand how their identity is formed. Your tween will learn about differences between the sexes, what is gender dysphoria & impact of dangerous and permanent changes to their bodies and minds. 


Dealing With Bullying, Online And Offline
