Reclaiming Family Moments: A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Parenting Community

leadership & communication parenting Oct 30, 2017

Every once in a while, a message comes through that reminds me why I do what I do. Recently, one parent who attended our 4-week parenting course wrote to share how the sessions had impacted her family life, and her words deeply moved me.

She shared that for the first time in five years, her family now eats together at the table instead of chasing their little ones around with bowls and spoons. She and her husband have started focusing on encouraging positive behaviour in their children, rather than only pointing out what went wrong. And — this part made me smile — she mentioned that her husband, who has attended many talks before, told her this was the first time he actually thanked her for signing them up, and that he looked forward to every session!

To this parent and to every mum and dad who has been brave enough to learn, reflect, and grow together with us: thank you. Your openness, honesty, and willingness to share your journey not only bless your own family, but also encourage others in the room.

As facilitators, Nicole and I often say that the true magic of our sessions happens when parents exchange real stories: the struggles, the small wins, the laughter, and even the tears. These conversations build community and remind us that we’re not alone in this parenting journey.

The feedback that you wished for a longer programme touched me too. It tells me that parents want to keep growing, and that the space we create together, a space of honesty and hope, is needed. We’ll certainly keep that in mind for future runs!

At the heart of it all, what matters most is that families reconnect; around the dinner table, through conversations, and in the daily rhythms of life. Thank you for letting us be part of your story, and for inspiring us to keep building strong, resilient, and joyful families together.
